I remember meeting my parents for the first time like it was yesterday and it has already been six whole months since I was born! Unbelievable!
Given all my moving around, my parents usually find me in all sorts of weird positions when they come to get me from my crib like facing the complete opposite direction they left me.
I already blogged about this, but I'm so proud of myself I have to mention again that I learned how to SIT UP ON MY OWN this month!!! Huge moment! Mom and Dad have been playing with me while I'm sitting up, but always leaning against them so one day they just decided to scoot back and see what I could do and wouldn't you know it I had no problem sitting! I'd been trying to tell them for weeks to let me show them my trick, but they are terrible listeners and hardly ever do what I say...
Hey Dad, that's cool, just taking my picture? Wait, what?!? Mom isn't right behind me?? I'm sitting on my own!?!?! Oh my gosh!!!!
Stacking my stars
My favorite sitting up activity, driving!
But I still like to lay down and play sometimes too....
I'm loving this new food they keep giving me too! So far I've tried sweet potatos, carrots, pears, broccoli and bananas. The pears were a little tart the first time I tried them and kept making funny faces, but otherwise they're all delicious and I gobble it up in record time! Mom is making all my food for me and I tell her how yummy it is by making "num, num, num" sounds the entire time I eat.
I'm eating solids three times a day - fruit and oatmeal in the morning, just a little snack of vegetable for lunch, then rice cereal and more veggies for dinner, plus I get bottles with all those meals. I also nurse two times a day, so still eating 5 times. I'm on a very good schedule, I eat my biggest meal at 7:30 when I wake up then, 11, 2, 5 and 8.
I've always been such a good sleeper, and more of the same there. Bed at 8:30 and wake up about 7:15. I've started napping about an hour after I eat for 30 minutes - an hour each time. Who knows what Mom does with all that free time I give her...
I'm very observant, always looking around and people constantly ask my parents - is Emma always so quiet? I'm definitely much quieter when I'm first around people other than Mom and Dad... everything is just brand new to me so I'm just taking it alllll in. Even if I'm not talking around other people, I'm still extremely curious and if you're wearing glasses - watch out!! I'll grab them right off your face. I'm also very into necklaces and zippers. Also, its probably best not to get your face with my reach because my hands will be in your mouth or up your nose in no time.
At home I babble all the time with some Da and Ba sounds mixed in. My favorite noises are sticking my tongue out making raspberry sounds. I giggle and make lots of happy baby sounds all during the day, I don't have much to fuss about because life is so good!
Mom has been working on a few signs with me and I just started signing "eat" a few days ago, and what some might consider "milk"/"hi"/"bye"! Those three all look really similar in my opinion so maybe Mom didn't pick very good signs to start with... but I'm doing some opening and closing of my fists when I eat and when I first see new people. It's just all so new and exciting right now I could just be flapping around for all they know! :)
Speaking of, I still love bath time and all my toys. Since we only have a big garden tub, I'm still taking baths in the sink but I've got lots of room to play.
Having Mom at home most of this past month has been awesome! Since the weather has been so wonderful we've gotten to go for walks almost every day! I talk to her for the first 20 minutes or so about everything I'm seeing then eventually fall asleep. Its been about 60-70 degrees almost every day, but Mom still brings like 3 blankets with us in case an arctic wind blows in out of no where. We got a new jogging stroller to log all our miles!
Oh yeah, rockin' the pink flower shades...
With Mom at home, I have been able to go to music classes at the library, have lunch with friends, see family, and go shopping all the time :)
Have you guys ever played peek a boo? If not, you are totally missing out because it is SO FUN and definitely my favorite right now! I like to pull Mom's hand over my face then push it away so we can play for hours at a time! I giggle so much, its just so weird how she keeps disappearing and reappearing - she should definitely start a magic show.
Just so I don't forget some of my mannerisms - I kick ALL the time, when I'm being held, playing, getting my diaper changed, just whatever, I'm constantly on the move - same goes for waving my arms, basically I never just sit still; I giggle as soon as Mom gets out the lotion, I love how it feels!!; I often pick just one leg up and hold it in the air indefinitely - ab workout!; I get super excited when I'm laid down for my naps or bedtime; when I see kids about 2-3 years old walking around I immediately reach out to them to play - not babies or adults though, toddlers are the most fun!; 4-5 in the afternoon I'm getting a little clingy and always want to be right next to my Mom.
Overall I'm still such a happy baby, tons of smiles for everyone and Mom and Dad say all the time how lucky they are... Love them :)
Love you all!

So cute! Aww... I'm dying to see y'all again now. She's getting SO big!
And sign language is awesome. Eli talks in complete sentences, but he will still say and sign things like more, please, milk and all done if I don't do what he wants fast enough.
