Labor pains...

The waiting and not knowing when Emma will get here is so difficult!!  I'm still 4 days out from my due date, but it's hard not to feel like I've just been pregnant forever!

I've been able to work from home a majority of the last week, and go in to the office only one or two days which I think is almost making the waiting seem so much longer. All I can think about most of the day is when will I go into labor?!?   It makes me very nervous to go anywhere by myself for fear of having a huge dramatic water breaking moment in public like in the movies, haha! (which apparently only happens to like 8% of women).

At my last three doctor's appointments I've had no changes and things are progressing veeeerrrry slowly.   The doctor says that is very typical for first pregnancies and it means absolutely nothing because it can change in a minute.  I do think Emma has dropped into position because my bump seems a bit lower now and I can walk up stairs without huffing and puffing!

Because of the slow progress, my doctor doesn't want to induce before my due date since there is a higher risk for a very long delivery or c section.  The earliest the hospital can schedule my induction is July 26!!!! 10 days after I'm due! I was in tears when I found out.  Apparently there is a huge Dallas baby boom going on because my doctor delivered 7 babies last Thursday alone!  Typically they have 3- 4 a week in the whole practice.

I know the induction date is last/worst case, but psychologically it's very hard to hear that it could be another 2 weeks almost of being pregnant in is heat!  This summer so far is the hottest summer since 1980, yay Texas!!

I know thousands of ladies are going through the same exact thing I am - so no more complaining I promise!!!

I'm so excited and ready to hold Emma and love her (and dress her in all the adorable outfits she has hanging in her closet, hehe)!  So while we wait, I'm trying to just take it easy and relax because I know all our free time will soon be gone!!!  Every night we go to bed I think this could be our last night as just Ian and I and its so crazy/exciting/scary/wonderful/amazing!!  :)  Can't wait to meet you Emma!!

And just for fun... here are some pictures from our wonderful maternity photo session with Chunky Monkey Photography!!
