Four Months Already!

Yup, I missed my three month post - I've just been super busy lately!  I had my four month check up today and I grew a ton!
14 pounds - 50th percentile
26 inches - 97 percentile

Mom and Daddy cannot believe how much I've grown since I was born... they can't imagine I was ever littler than I am now!

I've learned so much this past month!  I can now hold my head up for several minutes while I do tummy time....

I can reach out and grab all my toys - and bring them all to my mouth to chew on! :) .....

Grab my toes and pull my socks off...  I've also managed to get out of my swaddle somehow almost every night...

and the biggest accomplishment of all - I rolled over from my back to my tummy!  Well, sort of.... I still get my arm caught where I'm not fully on my tummy, but I got the general idea of rolling over :)  I mostly just like to rock back and forth from side to side on my play mat looking at all my toys though.

I LOVE to be on the move.  When someone is holding me I'm not very content for long if we are just sitting still, I need to be up walking around - well carried around, but I smile so big because I know I'm directing things already! :)   I'm eating just a little bit more now, I have three six ounce bottles and two 5 1/2 ounce bottles a day which I eat in about 10 minutes flat and give a HUGE burp at the end.  Then I smile to myself at the loud noise I just made!

I have a pretty good sense of humor, sometimes out of nowhere I'll be sitting with Mommy or Daddy and just giggle to myself for awhile.  I smile at my parents all the time, well pretty much anyone who smiles at me gets my huge gummy grin.  I'm just happy to be here!!  I'm still loving my play mat, and been checking out my new toy they call a Jumper, but the more I play with it the more I like it!

This was an early Christmas present from someone named Santa, love it!

I can't sit up on my own of course, but I love sitting up in people's laps... I'm not really a fan of being held like a baby anymore, unless I'm really sleepy.  I've got this little chair thats just my size, but I don't really like being in it too long yet.  I'm thinking when I start solids in a month or two I'll be more ready to sit by myself.
I have a lot of cute clothes I promise, I don't know why there are so many diaper only pictures!
I'm really good at entertaining myself and am content in my bouncer or swing as long as I can still see someone around.  I'm starting to get a little attached to my parents, I love grabbing hold of their shirts (or hair or necklace) when they hold me, and start to fuss if I've been left alone for a few minutes or can't see anyone paying attention to me.

If I wake up from my nap early, most of the time Mom and Dad don't even know because I'll just lay there chewing on my hands or grabbing my feet until they come check on me and Surprise!  I'm up!  Speaking of, I will chew on any and everything.  I have two favorite toys, my lamb rattle and bumble bee rattle.  Oh and also my parents hands... they are fascinating and I usually will just grab them to play with when they're holding me.

I wake up at 7 and dad feeds me my first bottle.  I talk and sing with Mom while she gets ready for work then she loads up the car, usually forgets something and has to turn around, but eventually I get to day care!  I'm all smiles for my teachers and have a blast all day with my friends!  I eat every 3 - 3 1/2 hours and Mom comes to pick me up sometime between 3 and 5 in the afternoon depending on her schedule.  Dad comes home around 6:30 so we get to play for awhile before I take a quick nap, then bathtime and last bottle around 8.  Dad reads me my story every night - and I've started trying to turn the pages myself because they're so colorful! - and then I get all swaddled up, my CD of lullabies turned on and lights out at 8:30!!!  So I get about 11 hours of sleep a night - yes that's right, you're very welcome parents.
Weekends are the best though because we get to go shopping, or take walks around the park and see all our friends!  I'm very set in my schedule though, pretty much the only time I get fussy is when I am late for my nap.

Last week we had a very big day in the car and saw lots of family, Thanksgiving.  I don't know what the fuss is about but I had to wear huge bows and shoes, and take A LOT of pictures so I missed some nap time!  Don't mess with my schedule people or I will wake up crying in the middle of the night!!  It was fun seeing all my family!  In the morning we went to Grandy and Grandad's house ....

Then in the afternoon we went to Doc & Sau-Sau's in Midlothian...

Uncle Ross

I also got to meet a special friend, Declan Norris, who is just one day older than me!  Here I am with his grandma, Mrs. Norris.  Declan's grandparents are great friends of Doc and Sau-Sau... Doc went to high school with Mr. Norris then reconnected when they moved to Midlothian right after my Mom was born.

I loved my first Thanksgiving and getting to hang out with Uncle Neal the next morning before he went back to college!

Oh, how could I forget to mention?  Earlier this month I made my longest car trip down to Houston to meet some of Mommy's friends down there and new friends Brooks and Jack.  Brooks was born just 3 days before me, we had so much shopping with our  moms and playing together all weekend!   I also got to meet Stu, Briana and Jack who is a few months older and Mom's friend Laura.  Mom brought all our cameras but left them all in the hotel room, so didn't get any pictures with Jack, Briana or Laura :(

Liz, Brooks, Me and Mommy - don't mind my socks, we had to do a last minute outfit change :)

Holding hands!

I didn't do so well Friday night sleeping in the hotel and kept wakign up every few hours... I warned my parents not to mess with nap time :) But I slept all night Saturday night so they could rest up for the drive home...

This has definitely been a great month and lots of new tricks up my sleeve for month five!!

What a busy two weeks!!!

Ok guys, wow... I thought I had seen so much in my first two months, but October was the busiest month ever!!!  I got to meet my great-Grandma Doris, start day care, visit the Arboretum (twice!!!), turned 3 months old, watched my first World Series and tons of college football game, and learned lots of new tricks like how to bring my toys to my mouth to chew on and lots more!

Where to begin?!?  The weekend before mom went back to work full-time we took a quick trip to Okmulgee, Oklahoma to meet my great-Grandma Doris, Great Uncle Kary, Great Aunt Jennifer, my second cousins Ashley, Joe and Taylor and my Great-Great Aunt Wanda, Whew!.  These relatives are all from Sau-Sau's side of the family where I'm the 14th great-grandchild!  I loved getting to play with everyone for the first time!

My uncle Neal also drove over from college at Oklahoma Baptist University to see me.  Since he's been so busy with being Class President and running cross country I haven't seen him since I was about two weeks old!  He fed me a bottle and loved holding me too!

My "aunt" La Shea gave me the cutest Halloween onesie and we live close to this awesome place with tons of colorful flowers to look at called the Arboretum, so Mom dressed me up before Halloween for pictures...

Seriously Mom?  You just sat me on the dirty ground just for a photo op??

I also started day care on October 17, well technically I went for a few hours on the Thursday and Friday before that.  Mom was told it was a good idea to try a few hours apart before the first day back at work so she wouldn't be completely breaking down at work.  Good thing she did, because she really was a mess!  The teachers were so nice to Mommy and thankfully Daddy came with me on my first day so she got lots of hugs from him too.  I've just been such an easy baby that Mom had a ton of fun hanging out with me, so she was sad to miss my smiling face all day.  But I really love my day care, I always have big smiles for my teachers and love staring at the other babies.  Plus they have different swings, bouncers, mobiles and toys than at home so its fun to change things up!  My teachers say I'm the best baby, I never fuss and always take my bottle no matter which one feeds me.  There are 6 other babies in my class and 3 teachers, so I get lots of attention.

Mom forgot to take pictures of me at school because she was too busy getting out tissues, but here's me after school all worn out from a fun day of playing!

I'm getting so good at tummy time, I can really hold my head up for about 20 seconds at a time!  There's so much to look at!!  As soon as I drop my head to give my neck a break I pick it right back up to look around some more.  I'm also working on my balancing so I lift my feet and legs up along with my head to where I basically am doing a backwards crunch.  Gotta stay fit and limber!
For Halloween this year I was the cutest strawberry you've ever seen :)  Well thats what my mom says.  We got to make another trip to the Arboretum, and this time my parents actually found Cinderella's pumpkin village instead of thinking all there were for pictures were random displays of pumpkins.  Duh!  Anyway, Sau Sau went with us to help take pictures.  Because my costume was so full of stuffing it was very hard to sit up, and I kept rolling back and forth.  Plus there was so much to look at - all the kids in their fun costumes, and the colorful pumpkins everywhere!  But I did so well and just stayed there patiently wherever my mom put me, and just waited for the pictures to be over with so I could finally get my nap.

I love chewing on anything I can get my hands on lately!!

The electricty went out in our neighborhood after a huge storm - it didn't wake me up so how bad could it have been?! - but the power was out and we had to go to Doc and Sau-Sau's house for the day to hang out.  Turns out the power still wasn't working by night time so we ran home to get all our overnight stuff then back to Midlothian to spend the night!  I got to spend the whole next day with Doc and Sau Sau too after Mommy went to work.  Mommy is used to our routine so she was very frazzled by all this and forgot half her work stuff and some things for me too, let's hope she can get it together soon because I won't always be so predictable!!

Lots of friends came to visit me lately too!

La Shea giving me my bottle and Kennedee holding me while I sleep!
