After months and months (and months and months) of having our first house on the market, over 60 showings - Mom LOVED keeping the house pristine while I loved destroying her work :) and tons of prayers, we FINALLY got an offer on our home on October 1.
The whole process went so quickly, from offer to closing in about 3 weeks and having been burned twice Mom and Dad were hesitant to really and truly pack up everything until about a week before closing.
In the meantime, we had no where to live! Mom and Dad had basically been looking online for about a year and thought they knew everything that was for sale in the Lake Highlands area. While looking at a house on one street they really loved, in a great elementary, they passed some new construction and decided to call the builder just to see how crazy outside their budget this house was. Turns out, it was right in our budget, and had the exact right combination of space that Mom had been looking for and Dad thought they'd never find! Another great thing was that it was right at the point where Mom and Dad didn't have to deal with architects or building plans, but still got to pick all the fun stuff like granite, tile, flooring, paint colors and finishes! We had a contract on the house within 24 hours :)
Meanwhile, we finished moving out and closing on our first home on October 26 and since the new house wouldn't be done until December we moved in with Doc and Sau Sau in Midlothian in the interim. We packed all our things into a big Pod (even a lot of things that it turns out we needed during our stay in Midlothian... oops Mom) and moved into our temporary home. We are So, so, so lucky to have family close by that we could live with during construction.
The new house was supposed to be ready first of December, then basically kept getting pushed back a week every week, Dec 8, Dec 14, Dec 19... then FINALLY we got to close on Dec. 26! Mom and Dad were so excited (and ready) to be in our new house they scheduled to have the cleaning crew come at 8 a.m., sign the paperwork at 10 a.m. and have movers come at 12 the same day! Plus AT&T and new furniture delivery... Busy day for them!! Needless to say I stayed with Doc and Sau Sau for a few days since that would be much more fun for me.
Now we are getting in and getting settled... Mom just started her third trimester so getting the house decorated will be a long on-going process. This house is more than twice as big as our first one, so there is a lot of empty space for awhile. But everyone is just so thankful the timing worked out so we could be in our new home with a few months to go before my new baby sister!
Mom snapped some pictures before the cleaning crew came, so pretty please excuse all the dust and leaves, but here is our new house!
Our house! There are now shutters on and the garage door is painted, but Mom forgot to take pictures of the outside - still hasn't, we really need a family picture in front of our new house Mom!
Front door that has also since been stained a dark brown to match the floors.
Stairs, love climbing these things! I say Step for each one I walk up
Dining room
Dad's office
Kitchen
Kitchen nook
Living room right off the kitchen and that doorway to the left leads to the guest bedroom, so everyone come stay!
We have a little "mudroom" area downstairs right by the garage
Yay!!! LOTS of storage!
Half bath downstairs
Guest room bath
Game room upstairs, love all my space to play!!
Game room closet! Would you believe its already half full?!?
This is either mine or Madeline's bedroom, they are both upstairs along with my parents room, laundry room and fifth bedroom.
My bathtub! Yay, an actual tub that is just my size!!
One cool thing about being older is that I get the room with the attached bath. This is my private space that leads into where the tub is above.
Mom and Dad's bathroom
Their tub (walk in shower is right there on the left)... oops, again don't have a good picture of it finished but just use your imagination :)
When Mom feels like the house is in better shape then right now, she will post pictures of the rooms cleaned (and with actual furniture). She's just happy the only boxes left now are garage stuff for Dad to take care of!
Love y'all!

Happy 2013!!
Well it was a very busy fall and winter for me! I've been trying to soak in every minute I have left as an only child with my Mom and Dad, plus we sold our first house, moved in with Doc and SauSau, built a new house and moved in the day after Christmas!! Whew!
All that on top of all the new stuff I'm learning every day.... I'm walking (basically running) everywhere, discovering my new house, learning new signs and words every day and going lots of fun places with my Mom while its just us.
My favorite things to do right now are play with my new kitchen from Santa and "go shopping" with my shopping cart around the house - never without a purse and lots of bracelets on! I also LOVE going outside especially in my new wagon. As soon as mom comes to get me in the morning I say outside and don't stop reminding her until we go!
I love giving kisses and hugs too and still say hi to everyone I pass by. I'm learning a new word or two almost every day, but the one I don't say yet is Mama!! My friends all say that was their first word, but I'm making mom REALLY wait for it! Some of my favorites are outside, Dada (go figure), step, duck, dog, apple, diaper (yay! I just started telling mom when I'm dirty), thanks, uh oh, lets see, oh wow and let's go! I can say somewhere around 35 words or so (but who is counting??!?)
I get to watch an episode or two of Little Einsteins on Disney every day and love dancing to their songs and talking to them on screen. Ill drive my car right up to the Tv for a homemade drive in theatre experience.
I'm loving fruits and carbs, but not many veggies anymore. Ill still eat pumpkin and sweet potatoes, but its a roll of the dive if I feel like carrots, peas, green beans or anything else that day.
I started Mother's Day out program in September and love going to see my friends every week!! I've never cried once when mom has dropped me off (I'm really trying to give her a complex). My parents also just got back from their first trip away from me and I did awesome!! I stayed with Doc and Sau Sau and never even once asked for mom and dad. I'm so independent!!
With the new baby coming I'm going to try my best and keep everyone updated! It's one of my resolutions this year, along with saying mama at some point :)
In the mean time... Here are some (okay a ton of) pics of me over the last few months! Thanks for reading!
