Something new every day!

Things sure are changing quickly around here!  I just started giggling and I recently discovered my hands!   Big week for me!!  These things are way better to chew on that my dresses and blankets, which I still love to do though...  In the last few days I realized that these things I've been waving around this whole time are in my control!  Well sometimes they are.... it's pretty hard work so I still flap them around a lot.

When I don't have my pacifier, I've decided to take matters into my own hands since Mom just does not understand that I'm asking very politely for it.  So I'll make a fist with both hands, stick my tongue out while I wait, stare cross eyed while I bring my left one to my mouth very slowly until Eureka!!  I got it!  I prefer only my left hand right now, just like I prefer looking left and laying left.  So far its looking like I might follow in Uncle Neal's footsteps and be a lefty.

My mom managed to get a few action shots of my latest accomplishment...

Step one... Concentrate.
Almost there... just slow and steady now.

Its within reach!

Whew, I got it!

Mom!!  Don't take pictures of me drooling on myself! This is so embarrassing...
She promised to stop if I gave a big smile...

Next big thing I'm working towards now is holding my head all on my own.  I can hold it up for quite awhile with a little bit of wobbling, but I've stopped completely diving my head forward or backwards - that's baby stuff.  I love looking all around, especially when we're out on our walks, so I'm sure it won't be much longer now until I've got that down too!!

Love y'all!

Giggles!

So, big news everyone...  I giggled for the first time the other day!  I totally did not think it was a big deal at all until right when I giggled, my mom SCREAMED which scared me so bad I started crying!!! Mom cried a few tears too - Okay, does anyone else see a theme here?  My mom cries when I do everything for the first time! So embarrassing Mom!

Anyway, it was last Wednesday and we were just sitting on the couch playing, Mom had me in her lap and was watching a tutorial on how to stain furniture she found on Pinterest (gotta talk about that whole thing on another post...) and the music in the background was AC/DC "Back in Black".  So Mom took my hands and we started dancing.  I love moving and think dancing rocks, so I was giving big smiles like normal and let out a cute little giggle.  I did NOT expect Mom to get so excited!

She called Daddy right away and put the phone on speaker like she always does when I'm talking a lot, but I was still pretty freaked out by her reaction that I was silent.  I've giggled several times since then  sometimes when Mom and Dad are making funny faces and sometimes when they're not really doing anything I just remember the funny faces.

It's a little dark, but Mom finally realized to turn OFF the flash and she can catch me smiling.  Duh.
Mom keeps trying to catch my giggles on video camera, especially today because I was in a very silly mood.  But I know how those baby giggle videos just go viral on youtube and I cannot handle that kind of fame in my life right now so I immediately stop when the camera is in my face.
I have lots of new sounds too, I'm talking more and more.  My parents still do not get what I'm saying, hopefully they'll learn soon because I try explaining to them everything I'm seeing and thinking, but they just stare at me with silly grins all the time.

To follow up from my last post - I'm sleeping through the night again.  It was just too exhausting waking up, so back on schedule!!

p.s. The big game was this weekend!  Tech versus A&M!!  We went to Dad's friends house to watch and since there were so many people around, I put on my best manners and didn't cry once!  Plus my friend Scarlett was there, she's 5 months old, and we had a very serious staring contest going on that I couldn't lose.

This is my can't we just watch the game and stop with the pictures face.

Love y'all!!

Midnight snack

I've been such a great sleeper, starting at three weeks sleeping five hours a night and just got better from there... Well my parents brag on me all the time about my 10-11 hour stints so I figured I must be letting them off super easy compared to other parents. So for the past week I've been waking up between 2 and 3 a.m. for a little snack, but only every other night... Gotta keep them on their toes!

I mean mom keeps telling me how much she will miss me when I'm in daycare so I know she loves waking up in the middle of the night to spend extra time with me. Who wouldnt?! She hasn't taken me on a morning walk the past few days though and takes a nap instead, I don't know what's up with that.

I'm trying to decide if this is a permanent thing or if I'll give my parents a break since they've been mixing up my eating habits by trying only bottles versus nursing to regulate how much I eat, feeding me every 3 hours instead of 3 1/2 and making me take every nap in my crib. I'll keep you posted what I decide.
